Jamie and Zoe's Ending

I should note I have not actually watched war Games yet but I know what happens. I have all the episodes downloaded and I also bought the DVD from the UK so I will eventually get to it.

I am looking forward to it but not the ending....

I honestly think having a companion lose their memories is the most heartbreaking ending. I hated when it happened to Donna and not sure if I can accept it here.

To think that Jamie lost his memory of Victoria, Zoe, and all his adventures with the Doctor after they traveled together for so long is just heartbreaking. Not to mention Jamie loses all the knowledge he gained from traveling with the Doctor, such as how to read, just really sad.

Zoe traveled a bit less but from what I read her life was really sad. She was appreciated for what she was, not who she was. And hence she will never remember that friendship she had with the Doctor & Jamie and that they loved her for being Zoe.

Of course I know audio books, comic books have given them back their memory and given them various endings. In one Jamie has a bunch of grand kids, in another he remembered the Doctor but became the village idiot and then years later died protecting him. So I guess it is up to you what you would choose. But I'd still wish Zoe & Jamie had a better ending in the series. I do love that Jamie was forced to leave the Doctor and didn't leave out of his own will. but couldn't they have done something where Zoe and Jamie or forced to leave the Doctor and the Time Lords fix the time line so the Doctor can't see them again. This would have been sad but not as sad as forcing them to forget.

I also know about the whole 6B thing and Jamie traveling with the Doctor for a bit longer (and them some people say he gets his memory wiped after this). I guess it explains the Two Doctors, but really it is not very good writing and its a bit silly. But I ignore that because I did like seeing Two & Jamie together again and don't even care about the explanation.

And part of me wants Jamie to come back in the new series to give his character real closure, but then I think what if Moffat actually made it worse. Be careful what you wish for.
