Fritz wandered around Walmart, looking for something to get his father for his birthday. He envied his little sister and mother, their easy choices. At sixteen, he found it harder to figure out what kind of gift would delight his father.
He walked down the aisle with books on one side and clearance items on the other. While his father did like books, there was nothing there that stood out as something Bernd would like to read. Shrugging, he continued on his way, turning right at the end of the aisle, where he found himself in the electronics section. Fritz walked through it, pausing to briefly stop at a bin full of five dollar DVDs. He chuckled softly to himself when he spotted “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Double Feature” as memories of a weekend spent with his Uncles James and Cesare surfaced.
That was when he spotted it. Reaching into the bargain bin, Fritz pulled out a DVD copy of “Home Alone.” He remembered watching it on TV one snow day with his father and loving it. Satisfied with his gift, he was about to go looking for his mother and sister, when he saw another favorite movie. Fritz grabbed a copy of “Rise of the Guardians.” The perfect gift in hand, he met his family at the registers to purchase it.
