“The kids won’t be home for a while, so let’s watch a movie,” Amber said as she sat down on the sofa next to Bernd. She held a CD case in her hand, containing a DVD.
“What kind of a movie?” Bernd hoped that if it was one of Amber’s horror movies, it was the one with all the naked boobies in it. He remembered the first time they had watched it together when they were teens and he never tired of it.
“A comedy.” She grinned. “I think you’ll like it.”
“Okay.” Bernd could deal with a comedy with some horror in like Shaun of the Dead or that shark movie he got James last year for Christmas. Everything else that Amber liked gave him nightmares, except the boobie movie. “So what’s it called?”
“Casper’s Haunted Christmas. You liked that other Casper movie you watched with the kids, so when I saw this in the library, I figured you’d also like it, so I borrowed it.”
“Awesomeness! Shall I go make some popcorn?” Bernd quickly got up. He stood there, rocking back and forth on his toes, reminding her of his much younger self.
“Please?” Amber got up to go pop the DVD into the player. “And don’t take too long.”
“Yes, ma’am!” Bernd went to go make popcorn. A few minutes later, he was back with a big bowl of it, along with two cans of soda. He sat down next to Amber and clicked “play” on the remote. They settled back to watch the movie.
