sleeping beauty
I've been cast in the Vortex's upcoming production of Sleeping Beauty as the Spinner. I'm completely thrilled to be in this show. I've wanted to be in it ever since I saw it the first time, five or six years ago. Content's music for this show is catchy enough that I still remember some of it, even now, and I'm sure she's going to refine it based on her growth as a composer since then, which means it will be all kinds of awesome.
The first read-through is next week. I only know a few people in the cast, and I can't wait to meet everyone. I'm intrigued to see the choices Bonnie and Content made in casting -- I know they had a lot of talented people to choose from.
I had a lot of fun at the callbacks, too. I got to read lines for the first time, which I loved -- I enjoy reading aloud. I felt pretty relaxed at callbacks, so I am sure that I did better than usual. And I had a blast cavorting around and being a faery. That wasn't a stretch for me; it was like an hour of playtime. :)
I am glad that rehearsals don't start until next year; I'm enjoying my break from the theater. But I'm definitely looking forward to this show.
