I want to discover a tasty green smoothie. This experiment is a baby step; it's mostly fruit and not so much green. Pretty tasty starting point, though.
1 peach
1 banana
5 strawberries
1 handful fresh spinach leaves
1 cup orange/pineapple juice
some ice
Blend and drink.
The spinach is barely noticeable. Next time, more spinach; I think it would take much more to make it taste weird. I want to try: getting yogurt into the smoothie without making it too tart; apple juice as a base; a more tart blueberry/spinach variation; maybe a carrot juice base?
Anyone have recipes to recommend? I think I prefer sweeter smoothies, but I'm also the girl whose been having miso soup for breakfast for the last two weeks, so I'd love to develop a more savory vegetable drink. However, I despise tomato juice, and things like V8 rely upon it. Any thoughts for substitutions?
