Reboots

Apr 13, 2019 09:14

So I just read that "Veronice Mars" is getting a reboot on Hulu. This in addition to "The L Word", "The Gilmour Girls", "Will and Grace", "Murphy Brown", and "Charmed" (w/o the original cast, tho). And to rub salt in the wound, it's the UK version of QAF that's supposed to be getting a reboot ( Read more... )

"I would have LOVED to watch a reunion/revival on Hulu or on one of the other streaming services"

*sigh* Me, too. Even a one hour made-for-tv movie that shows what they've been up to. But, yeah, I don't think it's going to happen unfortunately. *sighs again*

"I'm not sure I trust the writers to give us what we want." There is definitely that for sure. Amazing how they weirded out the characters. *sigh* I guess as Vered said, we'll have to stick to the DVDs (with the original music) and fanfics.

Relating to what techi mentioned here I do agree that some storylines in S5 were a bit umm... I guess you could say a bit OOC but then I guess it's because they already knew there won't be S6 so they had to 'squeeze' as many storyline and twists into S5 (ESP the second part of it). Plus IDK if it's true but AFAIK some of the writers who were there from the start left in S5 so maybe that also made things a bit weird. Speaking of which- despite the fact Justin looks really hawt in S5 (ESP after returning from Hollywood) it's BK who sports some of the least fav looks in the entire season show (questionable hairstyle, oversized suits, floral shirts?)

Still I've learned to accept the idea of an open ending to B/J's story <3 In the unlikely event that there will be some sort of QaF US revival I'm hoping the writers (CowLip? ) would be wise enough to find the right path for our beloved boyz. As techi said I'll be willing to watch any form of reunion simply because I miss them so much. (Note to GH- please no beard *g ( ... )

SOOOOOOO frustrating!

"The L Word" reboot bugs me the most, especially the
way Whosis takes credit for being so "groundbreaking"!
I call BS!

The whole idea of rebooting the UK version -- QAF-US WAS
the reboot of the UK version! All the characters are there,
albeit under different names, and many of the major plotlines
during S1 -- Gui, the overdose (although Ted lived), even
Stuart/Brian's freaking JEEP! -- were directly from UK. So
what's the big reboot???

Yep, I know. I would just be happy w/a "made-for-tv" movie showing where the characters are today, assuming that Cowlip wouldn't fuck it up. But all bets are off on that unfortunately.

*g* Thanks so much for commenting, honey! I agree w/what you said and I would give it a chance, TBH. But what I'd settle for just a one-hour tv movie with the original characters that shows where/what they're doing now. *sigh* But I'll never get it. *g* That's what the original DVDs and fanfics are for!
