We were lucky with QaF US, that cowlip brought the best bits from the uk and made it their own. Shameless US and The Office miraculously managed that as well for the most part.
some reboots you mentioned are good, great even, some are awful (i tried watching one ep of charmed when tyler blackburn was one... nope).
HOWEVER, the most important reboot/re-imagining everyone should be watching is Roswell New Mexico. While the original had my heart, RNM has my soul. The original was whitewashed, so the new show brings back the immigrant flavor to the show (timely, no?). As well it's set 10 years post high school, so they're adults with adult problems but still hung up on shit that went down in senior year. And, and, and one of the main ships is a M/M relationship -- spoiler alert --- it's cosmic.
Anyway, I should make a post about this on my own journal, but I've been meaning to comment for a couple days.
In conclusion, if we were to ever get a QaF reboot of some sort, I would definitely give it a chance. Reboots also tend to bring visibility to the original shows, so that can only be seen as a good thing.
