I love this:
the LH Collider. Ten billion dollars to smash li'l bits together.
So this scientist is chatting on the Newshour.
The gist:
OK, so particles are traveling through the universe, and there's some sort of "molasses" drag on them that isn't accounted for by gravity; therefore, there must be some sort of dark matter, that we can't see, in play.
So we spend time and treasure to attempt to understand it more.
Quantum mechanics.
String Theory.
And yet I am some sort of pitiable fool to speak of spirituality, or, dare I say it? "God/godhead/whathaveyou."
Ohhhhhh yes, my smug friends. You know who you are.
There.
I said it.
(And I still love you, my brothers.)
