Well, it's the end of my first full week at 4PD, and it's pretty awesome. It's not what my younger self imagined me doing when I grew up, but I think it's going to work out for me. I'm working with people I really like, doing work that, while occasionally tedious, is generally satisfying. Shortly I'll have my very own cubicle, to fill with crap as I see fit, and my first paycheque, though considerably more heavily taxed than my Chapters ones, will still make me a happy girl. I might actually be able to afford my wedding, and even my honeymoon. Woot! Oh, and a bonus perk: my hour-long bus ride each way gives me a good two hours of reading time every day, which is pretty cool.

In honour of this first week away from Chapters, I thought I'd share a few things I do not yet - nor expect to ever - miss:
- Squalling brats
- Picking up people's crap
- Listening to the same horrid music over and over and over
- Dealing with imbecilic customers (well, I might eventually have some client contact, but not all day every day)
- People who for some reason believe it's hilarious that they're looking for their spouse/sibling/friend/etc, not a book
- People who invade my space
- People who don't bathe
- People who don't bathe AND invade my space
- People who can't be bothered to even say hello before they launch into their demands
- Daily paper cuts
- Having to keep my nails as short as humanly possible, in an effort to avoid breaking them very painfully
- People who believe that just because I worked in a chain store, I'm an utter moron who's never heard of, say, Stephen Hawking
- Getting sick ALL THE DAMN TIME. I swear, I've never been sick as often as I have in the past year and a half
- Josh Moran, who used to play in Chapters every month, and could not seem to understand that his amp actually has a volume knob that can be turned down

And a few things I will miss:
- My co-workers. With a few exceptions, I pretty much like them all.
- My discount. Fuzzy still works there, though, so that's not really entirely lost yet. :)
- More days to sleep in. Getting up at 7 every day, while hardly obscene (and yes, I know some of you are at work already by 7. Shut up), will take some getting used to. Haven't had such a regular schedule since first year.

Anyway, generally, life is good. Yay.
