So I was on the bus, and this kid gets on with her sister and grandmother, and this kid is decked out in a fuzzy turtle costume, and looks decidedly displeased about something. Maybe the costume. I don't know. It was odd.
Anyway, as most of you probably know, I am not a big fan of children. But really, it's the parents I really can't stand. Present company excluded, of course. Because, seriously, in what world is it acceptable to go anywhere and allow your children to run around, screaming, pulling things off shelves and leaving them on the floor, opening packages that have not been purchased, and ripping covers off books that aren't theirs? Seriously. How is this even remotely appropriate or acceptable? And while the kids are annoying, I place about 90 per cent of the blame squarely on the shoulders of the parents. Because although a lot of these kids are old enough that they should know better, there's not way for them to known better if their damn parents don't teach them any better. I mean, god, people. Pay attention to what your kids are doing, and teach them a little respect for other people's property.
rants,
