The Weekly Report

Listen while reading... You'll like it... probably... hopefully... it's quite nice... really...

We're moving to a new office building in July.  I'm going to lose my nice, private cube with the huge windows and to replace it I'll have a totally exposed cube with 4'3" walls that is basically attached to six others in no-man's-land.  It's also diagonal from my boss' office.  Well, I knew it would end eventually.  I mean, how long can you have a kick ass space like mine?  On the plus side the new building looks really nice, it's near a food mart (AM/PM) and a small park (creek, water, shade, benches).  We're also going to have a TV lounge and req room so looks like there are possibilities of Wii, pool table, perhaps foosball or ping pong.  I guess I can give up privacy for Wii.  I actually think the Wii is a great idea and that it'll be a good way for people in different departments to interact (or should I say geeks in different departments?).  We'll all be on one floor to and that's a plus.  Right now we're on two floors and the bottom floor is set up in a way that my team is pretty much out on its own.  So yeah, I'm keeping my thoughts positive that this'll be a good move.  It's a little farther from the freeway and that sucks but oh the well.

Had a nice weekend.  I stayed in on Friday and watched TV and just relaxed - felt so good.  Saturday I watched "You Can Count On Me" which I thought was quite good and let's just say Mark Ruffalo's character really resonated with some of my own feelings/experiences for sure.  I met up with visiting
pharmbear for sushi dinner at one of my favorite local spots.  I have to say having dinner with him was the highlight of the weekend.  He's so enjoyable to have a conversation with.  I admire a man who can bring up a differing viewpoint and do so in a way that isn't attacking or dismissive of your own.  So we had good conversation and good food and followed that up with a decent movie (Prince Caspian).  I liked the sense of humor in this latest Chronicle but it didn't really wow me at all.  I hope they keep with the series though because I like this kids involved (minus the gal who's playing Lucy).

Sunday it was all about Holiday Hole.
bearxxl, Dave and I made sure we got their by around 3:30pm.  I went well beyond my normal pitcher or so by having 3 pitchers.  I was feeling no pain and still mostly coherent so points for that.  Got to flirt with cute boys, laugh with friends, and generally have a wonderful time - success!  After we had pizza (Mike met us - wee) we then went by PECs to see how
maverick1303 was doing.  The bar was packed and John managed to convince me to stay longer that I wanted and I ended up having a good time so I'm glad he did.  Went home quite buzzed and jolly and went to bed.

My Monday off was spent laying on the couch and being quite sloth-like.  I re-upped my icuii access so checked in on there for a bit.  Funny how it's all the same people on there (and that's not all bad - woof).  The bar was busy early on before it died off.  Then a bunch of the bear guys came in and we had a stellar night 'til close.  We were graced by my Flickr pal Chip R from Boston who is so cuddly you want to cover his smiling mug with polyurithain and sit him on a shelf.  I made some nice cash (w00t) and was happy to get to bed by 4am.

Today it's been work work work.  I'm behind, as my Tuesdays tend to be, and will be working a LOT tomorrow to catch up.  Tomorrow is supposed to by my first carpool day (6:15am pick-up time) so we'll see how that works out!

Apart from that all is well.  My cat is still boycotting his new catfood (which is the same old cat food but with a "new look" and a "better taste".  Fuck you cat food maker for fucking up the only food the damn thing would eat).
I'm still crazy over the latest Editors disc.  I mean, seriously.  GET THIS DISC.  I even turned off Howard Stern this morning to listen to it at full blast on my commute.
I'd like to get Wii Fit but I need to save my cash.
I want to go to MN this Summer but airfare is like 450 (low) - anyone have strings on airlines they wanna pull for a man in need of some serious MN Cuddlin'?

Ok, I'm off - Listen to that Editors song... it's just all kinds of wonderful...
