I worked at the bar last night - filling in on the patio from 7-12. It was an interesting night - not too busy, mix of folks, no one too annoying.
sluggobear and
maverick1303 came in with birthday boy Rob as well as Mikey's two friends from Boston Steve and (ughh, can't remember the other guy's name - it's Rob as well, thanks Mikey!). I remember Steve's name because good lord he was adorable. Muscular with a belly, clean shaven, great eyes... And thank you Mikey for orchestrating some viewage - it was appreciated. So yeah, having the guys at the bar made things go by quickly even if it also made me want to spend more time sitting with them and less actually working. I managed to make some cash and that'll help with the short trip I'm taking this weekend (that I'll tell ya about on Sunday or Monday).
Now I'm back at the real job where things are going smoothly even with the Rugby World Cup in motion and the FIBA World Basketball Championships among other events.
And now I see that "Van Halen" are coming to San Diego to play at the Cox Arena. "Cox" - that's fitting. With Eddie going nuts and firing Michael Anthony and making plans to airbrush him off of reissued albums and Roth back in the band being, well - tired/lame/washed up/etc I'm almost wanting to go just to see the train wreck. Almost... But at 79-149 bucks a ticket I think this show is too hot for teacher.
