Top Chef - In My Book at Least

Dec 20, 2006 21:47

Ok, Frank knows how to cook... I'll say that - damn! Tonight I took sluggobear  out to dinner for his birthday/christmas present (if you'll remember way back on my birthday he surprised me with a dinner downtown and double surprised me with awesome seats to see Wicked) at the restaurant that Frank Terzoli (of Bravo's Top Chef series) is exec chef at. If you've forgotten about our woofy pal Frank - here's a shot I snapped of him off of TV a few weeks ago:

Yes - dude is smoking hot. Now, we headed to Delicias based on his hotness and also figuring we'd be in for some good food. I honestly did not expect him to be there. But sure enough, he was. And sitting where I was at the table across the room from the kitchen I pretty much had a view of him all evening. Tee Hee! (girlish screams of delight). Now, I didn't go so far as to queerstalk his ass but we did make eye contact a couple of times as he was checking out the crowd etc from the kitchen. So yes, that was super crazy cool that he was there. Eye candy and we were soon to find out, excellent cuisine.

Dinner
Drinks
Mike started with a vodka/cran and I went with a glass of the house pinot (Mellville Pinot Noir)
Appetizers
Mikey got the chip/dip appetizer - delicate waffle cut chips that were really tasty on their own with a garlic sauce to dip them in. The presentation was really nice with the dip in a martini glass. Here's a shot (the first or second dark head behind him is Frank--I had to lighten the shot a bit because the flash didn't help much from my camera phone):

I had a traditional Caesar salad that was quite good.
Main Course
Mikey - The Bistro Steak... Oh wow, he let me have a bite of it and it was sooooo good. It came with garlic truffle fries as well:

Me - Halibut Steak... Beautiful cut of fish with a delicious sauce that also came with a dungeness crab cake that was excellent!

The photo doesn't quite do the presentation justice... Food was excellent and after watching the show, very much what you would expect from Frank.
Dessert
We finished up by splitting a Hot Chocolate Cake which was a large muffin sized chocolate cake with cocoa powder on top and melted fudge inside. There was also a scoop of vanilla gelato along with it (should have taken a photo!).

We both agreed it was a hell of a meal and getting to see Frank really capped it off (and not to mention the most excellent company of Mr Yada as well - despite is wide-set vagine).

lust, top chef, queerstalking, star fucking, good times, food, hot dudes
