New Years was interesting....our gas stove broke, a water pipe started leaking in the basement and something big & important inside our furnace cracked - all happened on the eve of NYE. That crack in the furnace allowed carbon monoxide to vent into the basement and fill it up with odorless, colorless toxic fumes while we were away for a few hours ( Read more... )

This morning started off about 20 minutes late for me when I overslept the alarm. Anyhow, we didn't make it out of the house until about 5 after 8. As we were driving north on I75 around Southfield, we noticed 2 separate black clouds in the sky somewhere by the Rouge River overpass.

Earlier this morning, the fire alarms went off…again.  This happens about once every two weeks or so, it’s basically a nuisance alarm.  Sometimes, the alarm will stay on for several minutes and sometimes it stays on for only a minute.  You never know if this is a false alarm, a drill or a real fire.  Apparently, many individuals around here have ( Read more... )

A great earthquake occurred at 00:58:50 (UTC) on Sunday, December 26, 2004. The magnitude 8.9 event has been located OFF THE WEST COAST OF NORTHERN SUMATRA.
