We had it today. The crowning turd in the water-pipe being that it was way off-site, so I had to lower myself to asking for a ride.
It was the usual, "If the inconsiderate anal rape that is your life as an employee is upsetting to you, then you owe it to yourself and your employer to find a new and constructive way of looking at it."
It actually wasn't so bad this time, because I ended up at a table of fellow smart-asses. When we broke off into table-groups to talk about things that start our negative thought-circles of worry and anxiety, some of them came up with predictably tame mockeries. Then I gave them mine, to the beautiful sound of uncomfortable laughter.
When the leader was looking for tables to share their stories, I almost volunteered - but that would have ruined it; trying too hard, and all that.
But oh for the opportunity to have said, "Oh, you know: Waking up in an unfamiliar place with torn clothes, blood under my nails, strange hair in my teeth..."
