Chapter 5
The thing about Eames is that you can’t trust him to be alone in the house.
They learned that the hard way.
As with Arthur, Yusuf was supposed to take Eames with them to work. However, he has no wish to be around the cat longer than he has to…so he ignores his beloved’s order.
It’s not like he’s mean about it or something. He set out a bowl full of cat food and a bowl of water. Yusuf even turned on the TV for the cat, as well as changing the litter box.
And that was that.
Now, if he can tell you what going to work that day was like, it was comparable to a day at the spa. Who knew that work can be such a stress-reliever?
Of course, Arthur helps by kneading his shoulders while he sleeps on the desk.
It was a whole different story, however, when everyone got back home from work.
In fact, it was like one of those horror movies where the victim knows that there is something behind that door but they are just too damn curious to run the other way.
The anxiety didn’t disappoint.
They were greeted to the sight of a fat cat with bloody claws sitting like a sentry in front of the doorway.
As soon as Yusuf opens the door all the way, Eames quickly ran to pounce on a wary Arthur. The cat wraps its paws around Arthur and grooms his face as if he hadn’t seen Arthur in forever.
They were too surprised at the sight in front of them to care about this encounter, though.
The apartment looks like a crime scene! There was blood dotted all around the floor in little paw prints. The curtains were ripped to shreds and the door was mauled as if a beast had attacked it.
Ariadne pinches Yusuf’s ear from behind, “You, mister, are going to pay for everything.”
Yusuf whimpers pitifully as he nods.

Eames is definitely milking his injuries, Yusuf just knows it.
With his paws wrapped in bandages, Eames definitely makes a sight. He refuses to walk and Yusuf feels guilty enough that he carries the lazy, fat thing around.
He’s pretty sure the tabby gained a few more pounds just to spite him.
His customers simply love the new addition to the store, though, and Eames practically preens as he hogs all the attentions.
Although Eames may act as if he is a compliant little thing, he refuses to let anyone pet Arthur. No matter if they were an old lady or a two year old.
If Arthur is all the way across the room, Eames would run up to the perpetrator and head-butts the hand away and hiss at them in a most likely offensive manner.
This is exactly why Yusuf knows that Eames is milking his injuries.
The customers just laugh and call Eames adorable for being jealous of the attentions given to Arthur.
If they were Yusuf, however, they would’ve known that Eames just doesn’t want strangers touching what he “thought” as his.
If the cat in question wasn’t Eames, he would’ve called it cute.
::::
Yusuf is totally and irrevocably in love with Ariadne, and there aren’t many things that he wouldn’t do for her. One of these things just so happened to be exhibitionism.
It’s just not his thing. For one, he feels self-conscious. Two, it makes him feel inadequate. And three, he totally believes anything intimate should remain behind closed doors.
Normally, in private moments like these, Arthur would find somewhere else to busy himself.
So imagine his surprise when he heard a loud purring coming next to him while his head is between his beloved’s delectable thighs.
Curious, he slowly turns his head only to see pupil-blown eyes staring back at him from whom else?
Eames.
Go figure.
Just how long has he been there, anyway? Didn’t he close the door earlier?
Ariadne made a whimpering noise and nudges him with her knees for him to continue. Eames crawls forward on his stomach eagerly so that his whiskers nearly brush her thighs.
At this point, Yusuf is too shocked at the fact that their activities were being watched to do much but stare. Despite that, he still has the mind to pull Ariadne’s thigh further away from the voyeur.
Running out of patience, Ariadne sits up on her elbow to see what’s stalling him. Noticing Eames, she huffs in irritation and lightly pushes Yusuf’s shoulder with a foot to get his attention.
“Are you going to continue or what?”
Jerking out of his stupor, Yusuf turns to stare at her in disbelief. The monstrosity next to them on the bed rubs his head against Ariadne’s thigh in agreement.
He growls possessively and pushes the head away from Ariadne, “Yeah, let me get the pervert out first.”
Ariadne frowns, “Eames a cat, Yusuf. Don’t worry about it.”
Apparently Ariadne doesn’t share the same sentiment as he does.
Yusuf grumbles and leans his head down, and the purring next to him got even louder. Well… there goes junior.
If anyone asks him, he’ll them that he tried. He really did, but he just can’t help the fact that those leering eyes are staring at him.
Yusuf sighs and pats Ariadne on the leg, “I’m sorry, love. I can’t do it. I just can’t.”
His beloved groans in exasperation and pulls Yusuf up to sleep beside her, “Never mind, I’m not in the mood anymore anyway.”
She turns slightly to the side and pushes Eames gently off the bed with her foot. Said cat made a sound that sounds like grumbling and sulks quietly out the crack in the doorway.
Ariadne turns back around in Yusuf’s arm and quietly laugh, “You’re so adorable sometime, Yusuf. You don’t have to let a cat scare you.”
That cat is ruining his life.

Ariadne may be a tad bit abusive and grumpy, but she’s really in love with Yusuf. Eames is simply ruining the whole dynamics that they have had going on, that’s all.
