I mentioned the other day that Simon is concentrating on divination and information magics. That's not a surprise for those who know him, he's always been the twin "with his nose stuck in a book"; but very little of information magic deals with books. IIRC, in his first encounter with Other beings, it was Simon who figured out how to use the seeing stone. Detection and Identification spells are a primary part of information magics; as is scrying, crystalomancy, pyromancy and, of course, fortune-telling. Another part of information magic is communication. Unfortunately, this is one magic for which Simon's twin Jared seems to have a talent - the two of them have managed to get into more trouble this summer than ever before.
