Television shows

This week's NUMB3RS hasn't yet appeared OnDemand (Comcast) but I managed to watch it on-line. The past few weeks, the FBI investigations have taken a definite backseat to the personal problems of the Epps brothers. This week's crime left me feeling puzzled. It was nice to see Morena Baccarin (Firefly's Inara Serra) again, she looks very different with short SHORT hair (boy cut short). I am confirmed in my gut-reaction dislike of Keith Carradine (doesn't help that he played such a cold killer on Criminal Minds back when I was still able to watch it).

(Oh, and I loved it when Charlie and Amita were snogging while Larry was going on and on about ... what? Digital paper? hmmm)

As for TrueBlood, the more I see of it, the more distasteful I find this treatment of the book. The added in storylines, the inclusion of unnecessary sex and nudity repel me. I like the parts that actually came from the books. I do not like the twisting of the story and plot to fit the alien sub-plots that come from the fevered imagination of studio hacks. I want to keep watching for the true story, but there's too much attention to the other and ... and the other is affecting the true. Jason Stackhouse is just plain WRONG. He's a flawed person in the book, yes, but ... he's not that ... It's just wrong. I hate and despise the V-blood storyline, the emphasis on it's aphrodisiac nature. In the books, there was a bit of that, not because it was an aphrodisiac, per se, but because it increased vitality and drive. All drives, not just sex.

I don't know how much longer I will continue to watch. I'm not sure if I care enough to watch any further.
