Friday was Game night

We played a novelty card game called "Spells and Potions" which is a partner-game played much like Spades with the addition of rule-bending special spell cards. I was partnered with my husband and as the cards were being dealt out, I stifled the impulse to apologise in advance for losing the game for him - he likes to win and I have no cut-throat instincts.

When the points were counted, I had three points less than the combined total of the other teams tricks.

Probably dumb luck.
