Re the Badwolf swimming hole assault
Victim : 7 year old human female, Rachel D__
Assailant : equine, believed aquatic, believed Otherly
Possible suspects :
Kelpie (Celtic) An aquatic shapeshifter, may appear as a white or greenish-white horse or pony with a 'sea foam' mane or as a shaggy, rough-looking human with waterplants caught in his hair. Always presents as male. It prefers running freshwater.
In equine shape it appears to be a friendly animal and tries to persuade its victim onto its back. The Kelpie runs with its prey back into the water, heading for the deeps before it's victim can dismount; taking it down to its underwater nest.
There is some overlap between Kelpie, Each Uisge (water horse) and Tarbh Uisge (water bull). According to some accounts, the Kelpie does not eat the drowned victim; other accounts disagree.
Each Uisge (Celtic), aka Water Horse An aquatic shapeshifter, may appear as a sleek horse or a handsome young man. Always presents as male. Originates in the Highlands of Scotland, prefers salt or brackish water.
The Each Uisge is always a carnivore and prefers human flesh. An human persuaded to mount the Each Uisge is 'glued' to its back, unable to dismount. According to reports, this monster eats its victim, leaving only the liver which then floats back to the shore where the abduction occurred.
Noggle (Shetland)Appears as a friendly pony, will run with victim into water, but is essentially harmless, likes to play tricks. Not a likely Unsub. Not dangerous.
Tarbh Uisge (Celtic) aka Water Bull Possible shapeshifter, usually appears as a bull, often black or reddish in hue, with round ears, fiery red nostrils and glittering eyes. May appear as a shaggy, rough-looking male.
>> Only hunts during drought conditions when water level of its home is low.<<
The Tarbh Uisge is more a nuisance to local farmers as it will mate with any cow, producing off-spring known as Corc-chluasach (split-ears). These off-spring are more willful and less domesticated than regular cattle.
Rusalka (Slavic)Rusalki are the spirits of women betrayed by men who committed suicide by drowning. They seek revenge for their betrayal and use song magic to lure males to their death.
Characteristics: Rusalki are humanform, female, with translucent skin, occasionally have tails. They are also shapeshifters who can transform into water creatures ... INCLUDING HORSE!! While they must remain near water, they are not confined to it and may live on land. Fresh and saltwater spirits.
