I first stumbled upon this foundation through a sampling campaign by Lancome where you can head to any Lancome counter to get yourself a color match and take home a sample of the foundation. It is through such a campaign that I tried the Mat Miracle foundation that is formulated for oily skin and I broke out badly. I did not bear much hope since I broke out with the Mat Miracle on my oily skin but I really like the Visionnaire serum and decided to give the foundation sample a shot. I obviously liked the foundation to buy the retail bottle...
Sounds like a tinted version of 1 of their best selling serums, Visionnaire huh? And this seems to be a new trend lately, serum infused cosmetics.
What I did not appreciate is the bulky glass bottle that makes traveling with it a pain. Unlike their other foundations that although is still a glass bottle but at least it was slim and easier to be placed into your makeup pouch but this was way too bulky to travel with. I wanted to take this with me to the United States but decided not to as my suitcase was filled to the brim while traveling over (we brought quite a fair bit of my sister's belongings over) and we returned to Singapore with 90 lbs of checked in luggage because of all the shopping we hauled back. I feared the worst and decided not to bring it along. It'll be a great winter foundation for the desert climate though!
Paired with a concealer on the cover of the foundation seems like a perfect companion but honestly, I couldn't care less for the concealer. Coverage is pretty sheer. I very much prefer my own concealer from K-Palette for that additional coverage for this sheer to medium coverage foundation.
Priced at S$70, it sure seems like a little pricey for this 30ml foundation but it is only because of the serum infused that is making the price tag a little hefty. But I do know for a fact that you can get it at almost 20% off its retail price from the DFS in the airport so if you really feeling the pinch on the price tag, the next time you are traveling out of the country, get it from DFS.
Ingredient list. Apologies for such a picture. The box is of a reflective finish and the print isn't very sharp to begin with. If you are unable to read certain ingredients, do let me know and I'll write it out instead.
I never expect myself to really like this foundation! Especially with its light to medium coverage (I am a medium to full coverage foundation kinda girl)(which unfortunately as been discontinued but I managed to grab a couple in US and have a backup stash of at least 10 pieces!) and my HG makeup finishing spray, the Skin Food Red Orange Makeup Setting Spray (Matte), I am all set!
It was coincidentally that Lancome Singapore ran a small contest on Instagram where you need to post a selfie of yourself with your favourite Lancome foundation and to explain what do you like about the foundation with all the hashtags that has been set by Lancome Singapore. I casually posted a pic and won myself some Lancome sample products..
Other than the Genifique in this picture, I have basically not tried any of the other items and I must say I am pretty excited to try the nail vernis and rouge in love lippy! Thank you once again Lancome Singapore!
My 'winning' entry for the Lancome Singapore's Instagram competition...
Back to the main topic of the foundation, if you are curious about how it fares, I strongly urge you to get a sample to try it especially for something that costs S$70 for a small bottle.
If you like a light to medium natural looking coverage with a subtle dewy finish, try it. If you prefer a fuller coverage with a matte finish, skip it. But I will still urge you to try a sample. Though this is not my daily foundation but it is 1 foundation that I will repurchase after I am done with this bottle.
