This is an extremely late post of my trip to Seoul in 2013 but better late than never yes? I had initially wanted to write about the beauty stuff I hauled in Korea but decided to show some of the 981238123 pictures we took. It was my 2nd visit to Seoul with my first visit in 2005 but it was a completely different experience.
It was a yearly affair that we travel during the Lunar New Year holidays with my extended family as most of them work in the same office, our family business so the only time they can afford to shut the office is during the Lunar New Year. It has been a family tradition since 1996 and since then, I have not been in Singapore for Lunar New Year except in 2011 where I was working in Vietnam and could not make it back to Singapore in time and also this year because I maxed out my annual leave for my 4 weeks vacation in the United States.
Well, we spent a good 8 days in freezing Seoul (I did lotsa updates on Instagram back then!) and looking through these pictures makes me wanna return for the weather, food and shopping!
My younger sister and myself. Taken somewhere off the highway after leaving the airport. We were famished from the flight and it was slightly after 1pm and decided on a late lunch.
Nami-Island where the beautiful Korean drama, Winter Sonata was filmed.
Me with my silly jump shot on Nami-Island.
My younger sister and myself along the streets upon returning back to land after Nami Island. It was an extremely cold day that day with temperature falling to a whopping -17 if I did not remember wrongly.
As it was our own private tour group, I planned to visit DMZ or what is known as the De-Militarized Zone at the border of North and South Korea where we got to visit the 3rd Tunnel where it leads up to North Korea via the underground tunnel. It was further up North thus it was extremely extremely cold!
Our cousins and us just before entering the DMZ 3rd tunnel.
Mom and her 2 daughters
Cousins in the 3rd tunnel
The railway station to legally travel into North Korea
The silly sisters jumping to North Korea in the background
Mom and us in the Ice Gallery. We have been to Harbin years ago so the ice sculptures were not foreign to us
Us and cousin Dior. Spot Pororo at the background!
Mom and us in the Gyeongbok Palace..
My entire beauty haul from Seoul. Is that a haul or a HAUL? There was a 30% sale off all beauty brands on Valentine's Day and I took no chances and shopped insanely!
Freebies from the above haul. Are the Koreans awesome or are they AWESOME?
In my review of the Nature Republic Snail Therapy BB Cream, I mentioned I love the entire range and yes, I did a stock up on the range of products.
Korea is the land of BB Creams but I only managed to get these BB Creams there..
