It is no doubt that I am a base junkie. I have been loving my base products, especially those that is formulated for Oily Skin. Another of my recent try is the
Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ Matifying Foundation.
I have gotten the foundation in shade #35 which was a close match for my NC25 skintone.
The description on the website:
This foundation hides skin's imperfections, evens out skin tone and matifies with a non-oily and powdered finish. Its smooth and fluid texture is very stable, water resistant and long lasting resulting in flawless make up.
In a squeeze plastic bottle, this 30ml bottle costs S$68 here in Singapore.
Among foundations for oily skin, the
Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation has gotta be quite highly raved. It was on my wish-list since forever and I finally caved in to try it despite the hefty price tag. It was almost the price of my Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation which was the priciest foundation in my stash.
The consistency of the foundation is a cross between a liquid and a gel foundation. It is a liquid foundation without the runny texture like that of Revlon ColorStay, MAC Studio Fix Fluid or the Clinique SuperFit. Having said that, blendibility of the foundation is pretty flawless because of it's texture. I like squeezing the foundation directly on my flat top buffer brush before stippling it all over my face and blending/buffing it out.
Oh, this foundation definitely does not have the annoying clinical scent of Revlon ColorStay and/or MAC Studio Fix Fluid. In fact, it is pretty fragrance free!
And, just like it's name, it is a matifying foundation. It applies to an extremely matte finish that almost do not require a setting powder. But being me, I do like a little powder as a form of security to absorb the excess sebum so I usually buff a light layer of powder over the foundation.
Having said that, if you do not like the flat matte finish on your face, you will probably not enjoy using this foundation as it is extremely matte. Oily skin will adore it!
If you do not have oily skin but want a mattifying / matte finish foundation, this has got to be it!
I'm actually glad I tried it and this has gotta be one of my top favourite liquid foundations now! Totally worth re-purchasing!
