Garnier Oil Control Whitening Cream

I returned from Taiwan almost 4 weeks ago and I have been trying to whiten my skin as I was at least a shade and a half darker than what I usually am. The Ginvera Green Tea Aqua Whitening Cream did not seem to really work for me and when I was at Guardian Pharmacy one evening, I saw this product having a 20% discount, I decided to try it since it seems promising. Afterall, it was only S$12.72 after discount.

I was sold on - Whitens skin, visibly lighten acne marks, reduces excess oil with an oil-trapping formula for an 8hr shine-free look!

97% & 99%?! There ought to be some truth to that!

Just like the description of the product, this is a really ultra-light texture cream that is non-greasy and it gets absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving a matte finish! It is slightly tinted a peachy shade but it is almost unnoticable.

I used it over a week and I can actually notice the product working on my skin from the shade of my foundation / base makeup. It was looking a little better as compared when I first returned home. It was pretty obvious when I first returned and everyone was complaining my foundation looks really off! Not that my skin has lightened a whole shade down from using it over a week but it definitely has lighten my shade. On the 2nd week, I noticed some of my acne scars lightening too!

With regards to the oil control, well, it does not control my oil for 8 hours BUT at least for 6 hours which is really amazing!

What can I say? I am pretty impressed with such an affordable drugstore product! Controls oil, leaves a matte finish, whitens my skin and lightens my acne scars, what else can I ask for?
*I reckon that the product will fair differently on different skin. I used the product both day and night over the 2 weeks to be able to notice the above.

The Aqua Whitening Cream from Ginvera may seem a pretty similar product but the Garnier Oil Control Whitening Cream definitely works way better than the former. Ginvera Green Tea Aqua Whitening Cream was a little greasy upon application and oil control was not as good as Garnier's. As for the whitening property, to be very honest, I did not quite use it long enough to notice any difference in terms of my skin tone and the lightening of my acne marks.

Given a choice, I will definitely recommend the Garnier Oil Control Whitening Cream for those who have oily skin but would like to lighten your skin tone by a little. It will not drastically whiten your skin but it definitely will make your skin fairer!
