Heroine Make Matte BB Liquid with SPF 30 PA++
Bought this from Watsons for S$21.90 over 2 weeks ago. I do like the Heroine Make Essence in BB Cream and the Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder so when this was launched, I was really excited! Not to mention, it had the word 'MATTE'. Babes with oily skin goes insane whenever a product is said to be a Matte Finish or with excellent oil control!
The description of the product was enough to WOW me that I had it in my shopping basket! Especially the skincare functions! It does not contain hyaluronic acid but SUPER Hyaluronic Acid! And nano collagen which makes it easier for the skin to absorb!
Ingredient list
In a small handy matte white plastic bottle, there is a shaker ball in the bottle as this is a liquid based product that requires you to shake up the bottle really well prior dispensing.
It is a 27ml bottle which might seem a little small, but I personally find the size really suitable for someone like myself who has a huge stash and finds it difficult to complete my BB Creams.
Beneath the blue screw top cover is a plastic nozzle which you have to wipe it down prior closing the cover as it is prone to dirtying the nozzle and blue cover.
See what I mean when you really have to wipe down the nozzle after dispensing the product? The BB Liquid is unlike your typical BB Cream. Just like how it is named, it is a liquid. Reminds me of the Clinique SuperFit Makeup for oily skin which I am not a fan of.
Blending the BB Liquid, it was slightly fairer than my skin tone especially after returning from Taiwan, I was at least a shade darker.
On the left is my naked skin while the area on the right is where I have blended out the BB Liquid. It looks a little cakey because I used a tad too much product. I will explain it if you read on.

Overall Comments: The texture of the product is a liquid so if you are not used to liquid foundations, you might not really like the texture of this product. As it is a matte finish product, you have to work pretty quickly on one area prior moving onto the next. If you are used to stipple a product all over your face prior blending it out, this BB Liquid will not work. Because of this, some might be put off with the application. And this product has to be layered on lightly instead of piling a thick layer on or it cakes up really quickly. Less is definitely more! Even so, I personally do not recommend using a thicker layer as the cakiness is really obvious. This was what happened on the first day I tried it. I mentioned on Twitter that I was not impressed by the product as the cakiness was disgusting! I tried it the following day and what I did was to use a really small amount of the product just to even out my skin tone and buff on a layer of powder instead.
Just like the Heroine Make Essence in BB Cream, this Heroine Make Matte BB Liquid works best with the Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder! The powder is honestly formulated to work best with the 2 BB products of Heroine Make!
In summary, this BB Liquid is really matte and does controls oil pretty well but you have to use a really small amount of product or it cakes up almost instantly! And with our humid weather, the cakiness of the product with the slightly melt down of product is definitely not a good sight. But I do like how my skin feels after removing the BB Liquid. Could it be due to the Super Hyaluronic Acid and Nano Collagen that made my skin really soft and smooth after removing it? Oh yes, with Witch Hazel and Chamomile in the formulation, I know my acne will be under control when I am wearing this BB Liquid. And, it comes with an SPF of 30, this product is pretty rave worthy!
The drawback of this BB Liquid is that I wish it does not cake up if I use slightly more product and that I do not have to work quickly in blending the product out. That is probably why it is not in my Top 5. But it is definitely in my Top 10!
Look who hit pan on the Heroine Make Smooth Cover Powder?! I wrote the review back in March and because the clasp closure broke when I was traveling, I could not wait to pan out on this product so that I can get a new piece to replace this. I used it every single day and finally hit pan! I am not sure if I can pan it out by the end of June but I will try!
