Looking back to my old sewing posts in my other journal, I see that it was
Dec 16, 2008 when I last worked on my Elizabethan teal blue loose gown (must transfer the
old write up later). The poor thing has been bundled into one of my projects boxes waiting for me to do more work to put it together, which I finally got around to doing tonight since I was in a mood to actually sew, not just glue parts together.
Most of the parts had been trimmed up already, and the gown was ready to actually be sewn into a full garment, so that's what I did tonight, so that it now can be worn, although it needs hem bound, sleeves put together and onto the body, and the closures made up and put on. It will take some time to do all that, so I won't be doing much more work on it until after my CoCo stuff are completed first. But at least now it is on my dress dummy so I can look at it, and so it won't get all wrinkly. Ok, it is already wrinkly, but hopefully some of the wrinkles will fall out. I must remember to pack a steamer with me for CoCo to get the rest of the wrinkles there.
The short sleeve puffs are what I also worked on as well. I am doing curved dag-like edging, and it took awhile doing the tiny stitches, and then trimming the layers to allow the fabric to turn. I've got one sewn, trimmed and carefully clipped, and the other just sewn, and will press both later.
And I think my arm has had enough, so I am going to bed early. I don't need to hurt my back & shoulder any worse than it already is.
