Our Maude and Harvey - 6 month report
Maude, sweet, grumpy (in a lovely old grandma way*), friendly.
She doesn't really like sitting on laps but she does like to hang out. I've woken up a few time to find that she has groomed a big patch of my head. She is also quite affectionate to the red cushions which she also grooms.
She is a tiny bit disturbed mentally. She is completely obsessed with a piece of string. She begs us to play with it, she carries it around and sleeps on it. She also has issues with the outside. We suspect she was an apartment cat.
We've tried the normal litter to outside progression techniques but she got so stressed out we ended up deciding to leave outside training to spring/summer (about now!) . She seems happier to go outside if we're outside so hopefully it will happen naturally.
Harvey is our cute little affection monster. He *loves* being on your lap. He doesn't even mind if there isn't room because he will *make* room. He has a wonderful sense of entitlement. *Of course* we want him on our laps. *Of course* we want him sleeping on us in bed. He is *Harvey*.
Last night we heard a non Harvey or Maude cat in the house eating their food. Neither of them protected their territory or seemed bothered by it. I wonder if that is because they were SPCA cats and used to living with lots of others?
