YAY, ME!!!!!!!

I totally rock.  Get this:  I managed to diffuse a Major Incident in my house involving the remote control, two young boys who think they know karate, and sort of do (and could have done some serious damage to each other and a new flower display I just set out), and NO ONE WAS INJURED.  Additionally, I have established a policy entitled "Boy #1 ( Read more... )

I think it was early for Obama to win (I have to wonder whether they made an exception for the nomination timing, or whether he and Lugar had been nominated in prior years for their nuke disarmament work and that made them still be "eligable", or what not), but I also think that it may be a reflection of just how much the image of the US has changed overseas in 12 months. I think it's hard, sitting in the US, to fully realize what the image of the US is in foreign countries.

I would think that Roger would have his finger on that pulse better than most. I think that in Europe and Africa his popularity is still high, though. And early reports I saw indicate that in Afghanistan and Pakistan the opinion's rather split.

By that measure my grandmother would have won many times over, too! I wonder how many peace prizes there can be.

And, anyway, the Prize shouldn't be about popularity... that is what People Magazine is for.

Thank you! Thank you, dear, for your support!

I'm disappointed. I would have expected someone your age to manage to be civil and mature about this, whether you hate him or not. He didn't ask to be nominated.

How is this uncivil? And I'm pretty sure maturity doesn't mean you're not allowed to make jokes.

Wow. This doesn't like like the same anniebannannie I used to know.

Cut Kim some slack, why don't you?

You have my nomination! (Though further avidence of the efficacy of the "Boy #1 Gets The Radio on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Boy #2 Gets It On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. On Sunday, Mom Flips a Coin" Treaty might bolster the submission we will need to make to the Nobel Committee to persuade them of your eminent worthiness of the award.

I have made some additions. *see post below where I answer Rell*

I do a die roll on Sunday. I mean, it's a fifty-fifty chance of going to eiter kid, right? And I just need to assign one the even or odd number. Maybe I should make Boy #1 the odd numbered-roll instead, seeing as 1 is an odd number.

INSPIRED, I tell you!

Yes, all very clever, and the die roll gets you out of needing to remember who got hte radio last Sunday, surely a sign of your brilliance. But has it ensured Peace in Our Day in the Morgan Household? That is what I mean by effectiveness. See my icon for the sort of thing that goes on in the Girnius Household...

Not to spark controversy with anyone but... if he got it for his vision of peace... Well John Lennon should have gotten it 25 years or so ago.

I'll nominate you :)
