I totally rock.  Get this:  I managed to diffuse a Major Incident in my house involving the remote control, two young boys who think they know karate, and sort of do (and could have done some serious damage to each other and a new flower display I just set out), and NO ONE WAS INJURED.  Additionally, I have established a policy entitled "Boy #1

I think it was early for Obama to win (I have to wonder whether they made an exception for the nomination timing, or whether he and Lugar had been nominated in prior years for their nuke disarmament work and that made them still be "eligable", or what not), but I also think that it may be a reflection of just how much the image of the US has changed overseas in 12 months. I think it's hard, sitting in the US, to fully realize what the image of the US is in foreign countries.

I would think that Roger would have his finger on that pulse better than most. I think that in Europe and Africa his popularity is still high, though. And early reports I saw indicate that in Afghanistan and Pakistan the opinion's rather split.

By that measure my grandmother would have won many times over, too! I wonder how many peace prizes there can be.

And, anyway, the Prize shouldn't be about popularity... that is what People Magazine is for.

True ; however, I do think that no major decision - good or bad - will really end up being influenced by this. The big honchos in the leadership position are unlikely to be influenced by it.
