I'm reading the Biography of Mae West by Chandler. Wow, was she incredible. She was so far ahead of her time in more ways than just being a liberated woman. She was ahead on race, homosexuality, smoking, drinking, food, exposure to sun, the power of positive thinking, and exercise. What an amazing person. The world was lucky to have her.

I listened to this one woman play on cd called The Second Coming of Joan of Arc by Carolyn Gage. Wow. Super powerful. Super informative. Super glad I listened to it. I read Green Girl by Kate Zambreno. It speaks about an important and difficult issue but I do not like writers who write about writing. She modeled the book too much after a much better book which irritated me for the same reason: The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector. I'm reading this book on the history of aromatherapy called Awaken by a woman named Jones. It's another book I picked up at Amazon/True Colors.

I'm reading Life is a Verb...I can't remember who is the author. I picked it up without knowing anything about it at True Colors. They are going out of business unless people go down there (48th and Chicago) and buy books. They also have mail order. They are the oldest feminist bookstore in the country.

I'm reading Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene.
