I harvested our rhubarb for the first time this season and it was delicious!  I made both a Rhubarb Crisp and Rhubarb Pie, neither of which I've tried before.  We did cut the whole patch down and relocated it, so I hope it takes to its new home and grows back up soon!  I definitely need to make more of each before the summer is out, and I'd like to ( Read more... )

I just finished baking some sugar cookies!  I had one before I iced them and they didn't taste quite as good as I remember them being when Mom made them, and I used her recipe!  Maybe it's the baker that makes the difference - none of my stuff ever turns out as good as hers. When I first got out of the hospital after having my baby, I wanted nothing to do with sweets.  It was strange to me because I love the sweet stuff.  Love, love, LOVE it.  Instead I craved fruit and yogurt and was drinking water like crazy.  But here we are, 4 months later and I've reverted back to my old chocolate-loving self.

I have so many photos of desserts I made before Christmas and I've been meaning to post recipes, but am only just getting around to it. For now I'll do things one at a time and I'm starting with these squares. They're delicious and not too sweet, and I've found out that they freeze very well!

Got my bake on today with a family zucchini cake recipe, and followed it up with a batch of fudge (never had luck with it in the past but seems ok so far).

Firstly, the pictures of the masterpiece.  It doesn't look overly exciting, but it's delicious.  And mine actually turned out pretty moist!
