On Original Character Nobodies

Okay so the idea of a nobody is admittedly a really cool premise. Yeah I get that. Incomplete beings incapable of feeling.

But here are a few OC-related rants that have been bugging me.

lots of tl;dr under cut )

I wanna see a story about a Nobody who is trying to cling onto their former self, and doesn't want consider themselves a different person. You know, something like, "I might not have a heart, but I'm still me, dammit!"

I've never actually seen a story like that, but if it was well written I'd be all over it.

Nitpick: Fourteen known Nobodies (possibly fifteen, but we're never sure until we figure out wtf Xion is), Naminé was never part of the Organization. She was their prisoner, and doesn't follow their anagram x naming convention.

And personally, I wouldn't fault people for forgetting the no emotions things, because the series itself seems to forget this all the time. 358/2 Days sealed the deal that there's more to this no emotions thing than just simply "they can't feel them." Axel, Roxas, Xion (if she counts), and Naminé in particular show very clear emotions.

Back when I was still involved in the fandom I actually did have a group of about five Nobody OCs who weren't in the Organization, called the Twilight Walkers. They believed that as beings without hearts, they were the perfect arbiters of a balance between Light and Darkness, and so didn't work for either side. Still wore coats, but they were of a different design and white with a lining of the color of whatever element the Nobody used.

Sadly they got so badly jossed by canon that I gave up on them, but I still had fun with it. Meh.

Yeah see that ended up being the issue with the nobodies I've created.
My first one started off as a post-org XIII ignorant guy whose life as a human was worthless and who tried to work against any efforts to restore hearts to nobodies. But canon and affiliation with clubs and ect shit turned him into a ridiculous irredeemable mess. :/

To my knowledge, the coat is more of a protection against the darkness. You know, like a shield of sorts that 'protects' the Nobodies from being absorbed into the Darkness they so 'love' to be involved in.

Thought, this could just be a fandom thing... However, it does explain why Riku and Mickey wore such coats... maybe?

Actually, DiZ did tell Riku and Mickey as much in the game (that the coats were used both as protection against the darkness, and as a means of masking their presence), so you are correct!

Ah. Then... why does no one remember this fact? o-o;

Because I've heard the 'You can only wear one of the coats if your in Orgy XIII!1!' or 'My character is 'in' Orgy XIII (or... is evil and 'plays' in ze darkness) but doesn't wear a jacket!1!' so many times, I want to rip my own eyes out. Violently. WITH A SPOON.

Uhh, I honestly don't know. \o_O/ It could be because it's a conversation that DiZ has with Riku and Mickey in Reverse/Rebirth in Re:CoM, and it was never mentioned in the original CoM. (Which is a shame, because DiZ also mentions Mickey's ears and it's lolarious.) Buuut yeah, it's definitely not "you can only wear a coat if you're in the Organization," although I don't think they ever really say where they get the coats FROM, either.
