They say they have no emotions, but then they clearly display emotions. My personal pet theory is that Nobodies are essentially metaphysical Sociopaths. The emotions they feel are stunted and in their most basic form -- stuff like fear and anger. But they don't seem capable of experiencing emotions that aren't entirely self-centered, and unable to connect with others. Isn't that what they keep saying a heart does?
Allows connections between people? So I kind of don't entirely buy that Nobodies don't feel emotions AT ALL since we see them react emotionally. And in some cases, not in a way that can be excused as them faking it -- like Zexion's moment of panic when he sees the Riku Replica. But while we see those kinds of limited, selfish emotions displayed there's very few examples of emotions displayed for others. Roxas, Namine, and Xion are the only ones that can be said to display emotions that aren't purely selfish. Even Axel's actions up until the very end are still purely self-centered -- he cares that Roxas is gone and it hurts him, because it impacts him.
So I see! I agree, that's another good point involving them. They do seem to have their own fixations, and what little emotion they have isn't quite....right. They're definitely very, very broken in a serious manner.
Possessiveness and obsession are something seen in sociopaths. Because there's a fundamental emptiness and disconnection, they tend to look for things to fill that void.
That really first hit me with the conversation between Xigbar and Demyx right after the whole Castle Oblivion thing in which Demyx was mostly concerned about what this would do to his workload.
And of course the bit where Luxord kept going "What am I supposed to do with half the poker league gone?"
