because if you're shorter/younger than any one, you're automatically the submissive one in a relationship.

fandom logic fails.

I really don't even care who's submissive anymore. I just want to get though a fic without the friggen characters going OOC because they catch instead of bat.

what you pointed out is quite hilarious and something i'd never realised before... that if any one should be a weepy uke, it's riku. same goes for axel as well, roxas is the one who acts like a cold-hearted bad ass whilst axel goes all 'he made me feel like i had a heart~~~!!!'

that said, NONE OF THE CHARACTERS OF KINGDOM HEARTS ARE WEEPY UKES.

My point exactly. Makes no sense at all.

And I mean that in the loosest sense of the word. I'm a female and there's no way in HELL I'd ever let my boyfriend turn me into a submissive bitch

Yay, fine print.

Haha, yeah.

I think you misunderstand my admittedly very vague comment! - That is, presuming you are presuming that I am calling the OP sexist, which YOU MAY DISREGARD and explain what you actually meant if I am wrong! - but my yaaaay sexism is more directed to the whole seme/uke business in general that's being complained about in this post? The whole ascribing of traditionally 'feminine' traits to any character who exhibits any other traits that the author feels go hand in hand with being 'feminine', eg. making the character who's shorter more emotional and clingy for no good reason or using a character's canonical emotional clinginess to 'reason' that they must bottom in bed and similar bullshit.

(but really, even if you do say "I'M A WOMAN AND I WOULDN'T ACT LIKE THIS", it doesn't make it much less sexist to describe male characters being written as clingy as being feminised. I mean, if anything, being capable of acknowledging that you as a woman do not behave in this way ought to mean you have the sense to not talk about it like that?)

Note to the fanbrats, someone who carries a sword that is as big as he is is neither week, nor wimpy.

Except when he's under Leon. And then all his coolness goes out the window.

I don't get fanbrats, why do they have to make him a wilting flower? I know he's short and cute, with his blond hair and blue eyes... but...

I don't see what's so appealing about the seme/uke thing.

They're about the same height, though.

There's nothing appealing about it at all, really. We just have to deal with it because there are very few authors that write without it.

This is one huge reason why I'm not much of a slash fan. If I want to read about two guys getting it on, I want them to actually act like guys, not girls in disguise. Thus why I usually prefer friendship fics.

In any case, I find it much hotter when the slash is aggressive on both sides. Relative to the pairing of course. And probably why I like strong female characters

We have the same idea. Only reason I prefer slash to het is because if I wanted to read about a het relationship, I'd skip the internet/books entirely and just call my boyfriend.

And aggression is waaay hotter than passiveness. By a long shot.

I SUPPORT THE ABOVE STATEMENT. The assumption that there must automatically be a 'submissive' and a 'dominant' in relationships makes me squirm. Most romantic relationships, gay or not, are based on mutual respect, understanding and the ability to yell at one another without disastorous repercussions. (i.e. The designated seme stabbing his uke because HE PUT CREAM IN THE COFFEE AND I TOLD YOU I WAS ON A LOW FAT DIET YOU UNAPPRECIATIVE BITCH, or the designated uke committing suicide because ZOMG MY SEME DOESN'T WUV ME ANYMORE AND I AM COMPLETELY INCAPABLE OF INDEPENDENT THOUGHT!1!!! ;~;) ....As you can probably tell, I really don't like this type of fic.

OMG, that made my LOL so hard. I want a shirt that says that in short form: "I'm on a diet, bitch!" with a cup of steaming coffee that has a smiley face on it.

P.S. If you know of any fics that aren't like that, I'd love to read.

Lmao, it -is- Bella. Wow. I hadn't really thought about it until just now.

Don't start a Twilight riot, though. Had enough of those when the movie came out..
