Constructive Criticism
I've taken three points to a ZexiDemy post that are a bit...well, none too accurate and I'd like to set the record straight here.
"I *love* Zexion/Demyx. Some consider it a crack pairing. I don't. I think it makes perfect sense, despite the fact that they never had any screen time together. Had they had any, I'm sure I would've been able to put their chemistry in the beaker on my desk, because they just would've had that much."
If you think it makes sense, that's fine. But you just admitted they had no screen time together. I'm sorry, but two characters who had no relation whatsoever in the story paired up together = Crack Pairing. There is NOTHING wrong with Crack Pairings, I actually have a few of them stowed away myself. ^-^ No need to get so defensive about ZexiDemy being crack.
"I am aware that Zexion wasn't thrilled with the newbies, but the official document said "neophytes like Marluxia," which I took to mean arrogant usurpers who want to take over the Organization, namely Marluxia and Larxene, and *maybe* Axel. Demyx is a cute, fluffy, little puppy dog who, despite having 1337 fighting skillz0rz, would never want to take over anything. I'm sure he respected his elders enough for all of them; therefore, Zexion would've seen no threat in him."
OK, NO. Cute, fluffy, little, PUPPY DOG?! Demyx is a member of the Organization. They do NOT allow any "puppy dogs". Demyx is a light-hearted guy (so-to-speak) but that does not mean he wouldn't have any rebellious streaks, nor would it neccessarily mean that Zexion wouldn't see him as a threat.
"Taking all this into consideration, people still insist that the pairing is illogical. Someone was quoted as saying it has "never been done right." Um... no. Just because you don't like it or don't agree with it, that doesn't mean it's never been done correctly."
This is more or less just clearing up matters, as I do know who has been quoted. She was NOT saying this because of their dislike of the pairing, they were saying it because they *personally* have never seen a well-written fic of it. IMO, this is largely impart to the "emo" Zexion and above-mentioned "fluffy" Demyx stereotypes. Now, it most likely *has* been done right at some point and perhaps the quotation was an exaggeration, but nonetheless it's clear to see where she's coming from here.
In conclusion:
-ZexiDemy IS a crack pairing. There is NOTHING wrong with that...Take PRIDE in it!
-Demyx is NOT "a cute, fluffy, little puppy dog", he is badass even if he's undeniably dorky.
-While ZexiDemy most likely has been done right sometimes, people who say it hasn't are referring to the flood of badfics/badart out there and don't say it hasn't simply because they dislike it.
