o.o;
Mini-rant .. thing. I wanted to post this on my ffnet profile, but I don't want to seem like I'm hurting people's feelings too badly *can get tres sensitive about this* .. and .. so .. I'm posting it here. Le yay *anime fallover*
Dear General KH Fandom Person,
1. Bullshit is not cool. Period. If something makes you go WTF, tell me this, otherwise I’ll never improve. If you do this constructively, I won’t think any less of you, and, I’m more likely to appreciate you for concrit than some typical “YOUR STORY IS LIKE OMG SO COOL UPDATE PLZ” review that could translate to “Maybe if I suck up, I’ll get more reviews!” sort of thing. So please. Speak your mind.
2. You are not an internet celebrity. I want to scream this at sooo many people. Gary Brolsma, the numa numa dude? He’s an internet celebrity. You and your friends? Outside a certain circle, no one gives a rat’s tush about you. So stop acting like you’re the next big fricken amazing thing since the hamster dance, because it’s really annoying.
3. Special characters do not a title make. What is with all the fancy characters, half of which will come up as SQUARES, or worse, QUESTION MARKS, on less equipped computers. Changing “Title” to “Ŧ ϊ τ ℓ ε” may make you supah-coo’, or whatever people say nowadays. But it also makes you supah childish, and usually seems very immature. Plain text is not a sin.
4. Nor does snobbery an elite make. You know what’s worse than a noob? An elite little bitch who’ll whine about noobs all day, and has no noteworthy writing to back their superiority. And, yes, this is not hypothetical; I can think of several people like this. -_-;
5. Crack is harmful stuff. I’ll admit, it’s cool to use a pairing that seems unique, and that sort of thing. And oftentimes, it’s fun to experiment with mixing and matching characters. But if you’re just going to throw away their personalities and write something generic, what’s the point? They’re characters. Apart from looks, their personalities are all they’ve got! Inserting two drawn-from-a-hat characters with little to no interaction just for the sake of creating a crackpair, and putting them into a brilliant storyline that renders them OOC for the sake of your plot - big fucking deal. If you’re not going to keep them in character, move over to original fiction. God knows FP is lacking in the user department.
6. Your heart is not a battleground, I don’t make you feel like you have a heart, I will not get it memorized, and the closest sanctuary that melts your fears and lies away is your computer-dominated basement.
7. I’m in a very annoyed mood. I reserve the right to contradict myself slightly, because, well, don’t we all? And if I ticked you off .. good. I probably meant to. I don’t know. I seriously need to go to sleep. D:
