Blah Blah Blah....

Yeah, I have nothing to write about but since I haven't updated in a while, I'll tell u about my uneventful life.

Friday: Went to 2 classes, took a midterm, drove home, went to 2 doctors' appointments and shopped all on 5 hrs. of sleep and a bowl of easy mac. I ended up having a meaningful conversation w/ my mom in stop and go traffic on 6-96 (damn expressways during rush hour). I now feel that our relationship has improved somewhat. I was able to tell her stuff that I was too scared to tell her before. My doctor told me that I can stop one of my medications come summer!! Woot!

Sat.: Woke up at 1, took a trip to Target, couldn't find mom an inexpensive Mother's Day present :(, then went to the family partay at my aunt's where my uncles and father and some other ppl got drunk and decided it was a good time for a political discussion. To my chagrin (isn't "chagrin" a great word?) I discovered that most of my family are Republicans. Upon discovering that my cousin is a member of the Young Republicans at MSU, I turned to her and said in what came out as sounding like a really disgusted voice "you are?" Everyone in the room laughed b/c I looked mortified. I just didn't realize she was that politically active. I felt bad b/c Mel seemed really sad, I think she was just tired and missed home, though. I watched "Drumline" Sat. night, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Sun.: Came back to the 'Zoo after eating breakfast w/ the fam. for El Dia de los Madres (Mother's Day). Sun. night I watched the season finale of "Survivor: All Stars." It's not fair that Amber got an engagement ring and 1 million dollars all on live television.
Mon. I felt like crap so I didn't go to class. I spent all of Monday night looking for info on John Kerry online and got interesting results (www.johnkerryisadouchebagbutimvotingforhimanyway.com is an entertaining site). Don't ask why.
Tonight, I went to Bruno's w/ Daphne, Jane, Kelsey, John, Lindsey, Megan, and Beau. Our waiter reminded me of Dan Lopez. Dan, I miss you and can't wait to see you this summer! I wish you would've taken that job at Express so I can take you shopping w/ me and you could be my fashion slave, er, consultant. But I bet I would've had to stand in line w/ every other girl on this planet.
So anyway, after a conversation w/ Lindsey last night, I realized that I'm being way too hard on Republicans. I know gasp! I'm still a liberal but I won't make anymore comments about stupid Republicans b/c not all Republicans are bad, just the ones in the White House. I'm still voting for Kerry, though, no ifs, ands or buts about it. If you try to convince me otherwise, I'll break your nose, or whatever part of your anatomy is closest to me at that point.
Funny situation:
Me: I found out yesterday that my cousin is a "Young Republican" in a disgusted voice
Ashley: What's wrong w/ that?
Me: realizing that I didn't know Ashley's standpoint on politics, Are you a Republican?
Ashley: yeah
Me: (opened mouth and inserted foot)

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm very into politics (hence my minor in poli sci). That fact that the attitudes of our country are very polarized right now has had a big influence on my social life. What I'm trying to say is, I need another topic to write about....
Later peeps!

PS: Rachel, I think Eunich is a sexy name. But that might've been his last name, or nickname. We have a friend name Mincus for crying out loud!
