It's just a ride,
It's just a ride,
Don't be scared
Enjoy the ride.
-Jem "Ride"
First off, sorry for not updating in a while. I've been sick, I didn't even make it to class last week (I know, I know, the Hitler scouts have me on their hit list). Anyway, this weekend was AMAZING!!! And no, I don't just use caps for fun. If you haven't already figured out, it's my 19th b-day today and the weekend was spent celebrating that fact. Friday night we went to the quad stop where Lindsey and I got into a heated political debate (I can be the biggest stuborn ass bitch sometimes...). We then watched "Casablanca". For those of you who have never seen this movie, shame on you. It has humor, romance, drama, action, and a compelling, complex plot with great character development, great dialogue, and incredible performances. This was the third time I saw it and I still got something new out of it. Saturday I was awakened by my sister calling me to see if I wanted to go to the mall. Seeing as how I had a shitload of stuff to do and very little time to do it in, I said sure, and went to the mall w/ her. There, she bought me the OC Mix 1 cd. It is amazing. I've listened to it five hundred times and am yet to be tired of it. Every single song is amazing, you don't have to skip any of them! I also got a pair of $3 flip flops from PayLess, a loofah, and a b-day card for Ms. Jenica whose birthday was two weeks ago tomorrow. BTW, I don't know what Chad was thinking when he said Crossroads is small. That is one big ass mall! Maybe I should consider the source... That night, Laura, Kelsey, John, Lindsey, Daphne and I went to Pasta Pasta for dinner. It was a great meal and I got a free dessert!! Then, I got my present afterwards. Let's just put it this way: never jokingly tell your friends that you want a male stripper for your b-day (especially if you have the same friends as me). I won't tell you exactly what it was because I want to see if anyone can guess it!! Then, we watched "The Bourne Identity" with Matt Damon. I never used to think that he was sexy but he kinda turned me on in that movie. Oh and Lindz took off her shirt and gave me a lap dance. It was sexy. Then, I spent the rest of the night cleaning my room which was fun b/c I felt productive and now you can walk across it w/out breaking your leg. On Sunday, my parents came up and took my sister and I out to eat at Burdicks. They gave me my birthday presents: a pair of shorts, the book "A Day in the Life of Africa through pictures" and perfume. I got cards and money from my grandmas and my mom brought me one of those giant chocolate chip cookies w/ frosting that you can get at cookie stores in the mall too. At Burdicks, I ran into Ben, Kelsey (Ben's gf), Emily, James, Pat (Chase) and Holly Taylor. My dad told us this hilarious story about how he and his friend launched his friend's boat and then it got stuck on a sand bar and they had to call the coast guard and get it pulled out by a tug boat. It was funny. That night, Jane came back for the weekend and gave me a cake that she had baked and everyone sang Happy Birthday, but we didn't have any of it. I then discovered just how cool Megan Adams is. I knew she was nice, but she was so cool and sweet when I borrowed her notes from last week's history class. She even scanned them onto a disc for me so I wouldn't have to copy them! The rumor was going around that it would be the Day of Gracious Living today, but I still had to do my paper for History b/c we got an annoying e-mail from Dr. Barclay saying that it had to be in by 10:00 even if we didn't have class. I was pissed. So I stayed up til 5 am working on the paper and then got up at 8:30 to finish it. Sure enough, it was the Day of Gracious Living. My paper was only 3 pgs., had one documented source, and was e-mailed to the prof at 10:15. But I don't care, it's my birthday and the Day of Gracious Living! I lied around and fell asleep, missing the speaker for Chinese Lit that I was supposed to go see even if we didn't have class. Then I went out to eat w/ Lindsey, John and Kelsey. I was told that the reason that they did so many nice things for me for my b-day was b/c their happy that I'm here. I HAVE THE BEST FRIENDS EVER!!! Tonight, I'm gonna see the Spanish movie and have cake. Laura's gonna come over to give me my card since she forgot to give it to me this weekend. That's about it for my events but I'd like to make a few more remarks:
People who share the same b-day as me: Dennis Hopper
Jordan Knight
Trent Reznor
Tim from my Sp lab
Tim Borgeson's b-day is tomorrow! Happy B-day little bro! The pope's is too.
This is the best b-day I've had in the past 3 years so I just want to thank the following ppl for making it possible: Mom, Dad, Laura, all my friends, Karen Newman (not the anthem singer, the pres of StumComm), Matt Damon and countless gay porn stars (don't ask, u really don't want to know).
Here's to a healthy and non stressful day to everyone else! And don't forget to enjoy the ride!!
~ B
PS: This entry is in memory of Robert Bock, my grandfather who would've been 81 today.
