It's been awhile since I've had a snag, and apparently, I was due for one. Last week, my doctor called to tell me I now have hypothyroidism. I'd like to think I've had it for some time, as it would explain problems I've had since before my PsA went active, but they've been checking my thyroid levels for months and this is the first mention.

Still, I have chosen to pretend I have had it for some time, because it makes me feel better.

On Thursday, in addition to an infusion, I'm going for tests to determine if the hypothyroidism is just another condition, some sort of result of having PsA, or if I've also developed Hashimoto's Disease. Either way, it's here to stay.

Yay!

Shall we try for a lifelong chronic trifecta?

I think I'm also going to schedule an MRI for my back. My doctor is concerned that it's not improved as much as she would like. The hope is that there is something else wrong that can be treated or cured. Otherwise, I might be embarking on the long and difficult journey toward disability.

Do not want.

In other news, I dropped my juice money for the month on this. So worth it.

In other other news, Left 4 Dead is awesome. Even though it's called a zombie apocalypse game, they aren't really zombies (according to the Law of Kim). They're more like rage victims a la 28 Days Later. They're infected by, if I'm remembering correctly, a mutated rabies virus, and don't actually die and reanimate. They can be killed by a bullet in the heart as well as the brain, and their first instinct isn't to eat flesh, but to beat you senseless.

They're close enough, though.

I nearly bust a gut when one of the protagonists, Zoey, started rambling, "I can't believe how fast they move. They shouldn't be allowed to run that fast! Like, I call zombie bullshit on that, you know?"
