So, amidst all the taping and dry-walling that continues in the house, we thought it was best to take a break and go for a wander down to the zoo. Of course, I'm not that wise and probably got too much sun, but I also got some very pleasing photos.
It was nice to see that the new area for the Stellar's Sea Eagles had been completed, was nice and large and not only afforded the animals room to fly but also room for them to get far away from the viewers. And a stream! Heck, even I wish I had a stream!
What really surprised us though was that the newest exhibit was now open to the public.

Yes, Houston, we have lions. A female named Kaya and a male named Xerxes.

I can't remember which is which age (nor could the employee) but one of them is 2 years old and the other is 4, so they're both considered quite young, I believe.
A gopher also screamed at me to get off his frickin' lawn.

And the Canada geese goslings have now turned into their ugly teenage mode (though there seem to be a lot of them), and the rest of the afternoon consisted of cats.
Of course, being the afternoon, the cats did what cats do.
