Peter Atwood's Artifact in Apex

I'm keeping track, in this journal, of the stories I read at Clarion (San Diego, 2007) and when and where they're being published. Also of Clarion submission stories, when the authors share their news.

So I'm delighted to say we have Another One: my Clarion classmate Peter Atwood has his story Artifact in the current issue of Apex. It's a tender story set on a bleak planet:

"The hover bucked. Davis staggered. The propulsion fans roared. He swore.

"He cut power to the fans and looked out the back window of the cabin. The towlines had gone slack and the skimmer tilted, half sunk in the viscous orange lake. “Shit,” he said."
