Clearing the Way for the Birds

May 09, 2024 09:34

Lisa made a big dent in clearing the weeds, brush, and other debris from the fence that separates our two properties yesterday.

My task is to move the piles of cleared debris to the brush pile.

The wind died down a bit in the afternoon, allowing Lisa and me to sit on the porch for a while. There we watched the birds come to investigate the areas that we have been digging up while clearing weeds, including a couple of quail.

This is the most that my camera can zoom, so the quality is not that great. When we sit still on the porch and make no sudden movements, the birds seem to forget that we are there; however, this means that I can't get up can get the better camera with the longer zoom, or else the birds will scatter.

I may end up carrying the better camera out to the porch when we sit out to watch birds, so I can take pictures without startling them.
