It's one of the good times of the year to spend time sitting on the porch watching the birds and bunnies.
This photo is from earlier this year because I've been unable to get many good photos of the quail as they scatter before I can take a picture.
Pigeons and doves are slightly less flighty.
Sometimes, if I sit still enough, some of the smaller birds will forget that I'm there and come to investigate the birdseed we leave for them.
And while I feared that clearing the lot to the west of the house would drive them all away, there are still at least a few rabbits in the neighborhood.
Not pictured are the lizards. A couple of days ago, I nearly stepped on one tiny little lizard (not pictured here) that was maybe 5 cm long. Fortunately, it fled before I accidentally squashed it.
