Need a new charity for our fundraiser...
optimystik tried to make a donation to Doctors Without Borders yesterday and they no longer have a Haiti-specific option. The only option in their drop-down box is "Emergency Relief".
I have looked at both Yéle Haiti and Canadian Red Cross. I've already made a personal donation to Yéle, but I haven't donated to Canadian Red Cross yet.
It appears that one can make a Haiti-specific donation to Canadian Red Cross, so that looks like the best option -- it's still a medical-related charity, like DWB, so I think it makes a good substitute. Plus, I haven't heard anything regarding inappropriate use of funds with this charity, so, as of right now, I consider it a trustworthy organization to donate to.
For those of you who have purchased things from us over the last several months, do you have any objections to a Cdn Red Cross donation instead of a DWB donation?
