* The U of MD men's basketball team demonstrating that they are, in fact, capable of playing basketball.

* The U of MD women's basketball team being as kick-ass as they've been all season.

Now that Reading's in the Premiership, I can finally watch them play on this side of the pond (and justify my subscription to Fox Soccer Channel). FSC doesn't show all the games, but so far they've shown four of Reading's six EPL games, including ( today's match against Manchester United )

Claudio Reyna just announced his retirement from international soccer, which makes me sad. It's not a surprise, but I wish it had ended on a better note.

I'm trying to remain unspoiled for England/Sweden and Germany/Ecuador so I can watch them tonight, which means avoiding all my usual news and soccer-related haunts on the web. I ended up missing most of Connexions, due to feeling like shit (and also, torrential rain on Saturday). Our gorgeous, spring-like weather of the past week seems to have run its course, and today we were subjected to low 40s and cold wind. There is nothing like having to walk to my work building through a wind plain to make me REALLY FREAKING CRANKY.
