Finally got the Snowfall totals back in Arizona...

Dec 09, 2009 12:39

The snowfall totals for the storm that hit Arizona on Monday and Tuesday which is now here in Buffalo creating less dramatic but still concerning weather issues.

Snowbowl (Ski Resort)- 32"
Sunrise (Ski Resort) - 30"
Flagstaff (taken from NAU)- 26"
Munds Park - 24
Forest Lakes -24"
Jacob Lake - 24"
Williams - 20"
Bellemont (NWS Flagstaff Office)- 19"
Grand Canyon (south rim) - 18"
Pinetop - 10"
Heber - 8"
Alpine - 7"
Strawberry - 7"

Seeing the photos from ABC15.com (KNXV Phoenix), Arizona Daily Sun (Flagstaff), Payson Roundup (Payson), Arizona Daily Star (Tucson), I was taken by surprise as the snow was deep in many places, particularly in Flagstaff where it has to be removed from the roofs of buildings.

The storm is now approaching Buffalo with high wind warnings, lakeshore flood warnings (Lake Erie's geography causes storms to push the lake's water to the Buffalo end which results in heavy waves) and winter storm warnings.
