Stuff
I received my Fox type 2 crutch yesterday. Just as I suspected, the holes in the bassoon didn't quite align, so I screwed the 3 that did and tried it. I think th metal stem is a bit too long b/c I can barely reach F# while playing. So like the dummy that I am, I ordered more stuff. I don't currently have swabs or anything to clean the instrument so I don't want to play too much without being able to remove the excess moisture. I really want a new case b/c this case is gross but I'm holding off since I can obviously play it without a nice case.
Kris called and moved the appointment to get the kid's (and possibly 'family') portraits done from Sunday to tomorrow. At first, I thought then we could go on a day trip on Sunday, but then I remembered that since Kris works both nights, we probably still can't. Perhaps we'll plan an overnight trip once I get my bonus. I need a vacation!! As usual, I'm excited and nervous about the kid's pictures b/c its usually either a very good experience or a really bad one. We don't have any extra hands to help us out this time, but the kids are a little older and hopefully this won't be so difficult. We're wiser now, too, so hopefully that will help!
I'm so glad that its Friday! I have a lot to do at work today, and we have a meeting when I first get in. I just hope the day goes by fast. I also have a few work-projects to work on this weekend. I anticipate next week to be very stressful.
