A week from today I have surgery on my knee. Kinda scary. Kinda excited. They are both weighted equally.

When I was seven years old my mom signed up for the Campfire girls. That spring she signed me up to play t-ball with a whole group of boys. Due to my changes in my medical insurance, Nick and I have been trying to find out how much the ACL reconstruction will cost. Tha way we can estimate how much this new ten percent will cost. I saw the orthopedist yesterday afternoon. After an hour of waiting in the waiting room, I finally got to talk to the doctor. Yup, I blew my ACL. He recommends doing surgery to fix the ligament. I have to call him back with my decision.

I have been reading about knee ligament injuries. From what I read and what my doctor told me, I tore my my medial collateral ligament (MCL) and my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Typically, when these two injuries occur there is a third injury to the meniscus (shock absorber), but fortunatley I didn't tear that tissue. Surgery could happen or it ( Read more... )

I visited the doc yesterday to get the results of the MRI.  I tore two ligaments. Not one ligament, but two ligaments. When I do something I do it all the way. According to the doc I tore a collateral ligament and another that when I pronounce the word it comes out sounding like on of the Unforgivable Curses. Over a week ago I had an MRI done, but I have yet to receive my results. I called the doctor's office and according to their computer system they haven't received the results. Will someone just tell me what the hell is going on!! Is that too much to ask?
