Tumor Update
Turns out the fever could be caused by either of two things:
- Meningitis (most likely aseptic) -- that is, the inflammation of the meninges. This is a common complication with epidermoid tumors. If aseptic (meaning, not because of any bacteria or virus) the treatment is steroids and rest. Doc said that's 99% of these cases. If septic, the ( Read more... )

Tumor Update
Dad's back in the hospital-- we've been to the Emergency Department twice this week since his discharge. Today they're keeping him. Tomorrow we find out what's causing his fever. -

Dad was extremely groggy after the 6-hour surgery yesterday, even 4-5 hours later. At first they were concerned it was because of the operation itself, but the CT shows that the surgery was a veritable success and the sleepiness likely because of the anesthesia, though we will have to wait a few days to see for sure.
