The Illness of Sophie

Sep 18, 2007 22:09

What an interesting day it was. It all started off well enough. I was highly productive at work and managed to finish chapter five of my story. The commute home involved minimum amounts of fuss. So I decided that I was going to return the library books I was finished with. So somewhere in the time it took to take the books in and put them in the slot Sophie must have decided that she was done. Cause I came out of the library, put the key in the ignition and nothing. Well okay not nothing there was noise but no movement. And of course having come from work I was wearing 3” heels, not the kind of shoes you want to treck home in. Luckily I was finally able to get ahold of Jed who came and picked me up after trying to get the car working. But after some consultation we decided that we would go home and eat dinner in the hopes that the car was just flooded. After a couple of hours we went back and tried to start the car again and that was a no go.

So now I have to have Sophie towed to the garage tomorrow. Where she will have to sit until I get paid on Friday. I can only hope that it doesn’t cost too much to get her fixed. Thankfully my mother and gran are sending me some money to help out. Until then I am back to driving Jed’s car. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that this is an easy and inexpensive thing to fix.
